From
Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your About Healthy Monday Editor
As we talked about last Monday, stress can take a heavy toll on health and overall wellness. Last week's focus was on time management as a way of eliminating some of the stressors in your life. It is also important, however, to learn to manage the effects of stress, as there are many sources of stress that can't be eliminated. Physical and mental relaxation techniques provide an opportunity for you to reverse your body's stress response so you can minimize some of the effects of chronic stress on your health. This Monday, learn at least one relaxation technique (and preferably several) that can help you to manage stress. You'll be glad you did! Here are several effective options from which to choose.

Learn more about physical and mental relaxation, and find several techniques that can help you to release both types of tension, from me, About.com's Guide to Stress Management.
