August 26, 1920 was the date that the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution was finally ratified and took effect -- so this week is the 90th anniversary of women's vote. In honor of that anniversary, I've focused on woman suffrage (or women's suffrage) in this issue. (If you're confused about whether the correct term is "woman suffrage" or "women's suffrage" -- or whether the term "suffragette" is correct -- see articles listed below the top 4 below.)

August 26, 1920: The Day the Suffrage Battle Was Won
On August 18, 1920, the Tennessee legislature voted -- by one vote! -- to ratify the 19th Amendment giving women the vote. But it was still almost a week before parliamentary maneuvers and official certification could be completed, and the Amendment officially ratified.
